Echo 1 USA

Post  The Godfather on Wed 23 Apr - 1:17

Echo 1 USA is a good company for new comers and also pro airsofters. The Reason Why they are so inexpensive is because they are a Chinese based company. Te first echos have plastic inter parts but now its is mostly metal an durable. Place your vote our tell me what you like or dislike about echo.

ICS!!!

Post  AMMODEPOT on Wed 23 Apr - 1:20

My Fav is ICS not only because i own one but because they make really good duns mostly the inner parts are steel which is NICE. it also has a spring release mechanism that very few other guns have which releases spring tension to keep the spring from wearing out quickly its also got a special gearbox that you can easily switch out and it is easy to open up. My ICS M16A3 breaks just like a real M16 and all i have to take out is one push pin.

Echo

Post  The Godfather on Wed 23 Apr - 1:31

The ICS Does have better internals stock and the gear box is bad ass. But the Echo does not have problems with the Gear Box and is now ful metal and a desent FPS. If you are just starting i highly recomend buying echo 1 Usa. I have been airsofting for many years no and i think that for its price its just unrealistic how lw of a price it is but the reason is it is chinese

There's nothing wrong with Echo 1. Probably the best guns out there for the price. But the externals definitely not the best compared to companies like G&G, ICS, or CA.

Actually, I've heard some insane things about the KWA m4. It definitely should be checked out.

KWA or G&P definitely. Even if I had an unlimited budget on airsoft (I wish) I would get a KWA M4, G&P RIS, G&P PEQ2, and a few minor internal parts. KWA has 8mm and 9mm bearings, which are great. Also the gearbox and body are machine reinforces however G&P has the best externals hands-down. ICS is okay but their upgrading potential is limited because of the 2 part gearbox, and RIS systems don't ever fit right, even the ICS ones. Also their hopup is not TM compatible so an H-nub is hard to fit in right, but other than that they are good (I have owned an ICS M4). Echo1 is great for beginners (noobs lol! ) and have Classic Army gears so it's all good.

meh

Post  AMMODEPOT on Wed 23 Apr - 18:13

a 2 part gear box doesnt really make less upgradable...ive seen full kits which u can upgrade pretty much everything in the gearbox. kwa's feel good however i an M4 and didnt like it at all...this was most likely from the fact that it had a 11.1 volt which i feel sucked major...i mean single shot didnt even work. it shoots like 2 or 3 bbs at once...which my be a part of the gun but i doubt it...i also disliked the fact that the clips get finger marks on them and then oxidize hella quickly making it look ugly...also its a really reflective gun which may have the potential to give someone away...also when we tried breaking it open it wouldnt open...so i guess my only real complaint would be the way it shot...yeah the ics does ahve a bit of foregrip wobble but its not really noticable on the field. also ive had problems with the wiring aka the airsoft gun firing but thats my fault for getting such a huge bettery that i have to jam the wires in.

as far as i have read i havent really heard many bad things about ics.

and no i dont have anything against kwa

I have never had any of those problems with a KWA M4, the mag was the same as an ECHO1/JG mag, regular paint and doesn't come off. The person might have a lack of experience and could not open it, I cannot even think of a problem that would make it so that the receivers will not come open. Only idiots use a voltage above 9.6 unless it is required because of upgrades. Do you mean it shot 2-3 bb's on semi? A lot of AEG'3 (with time) lose their semi auto because of crappy tappet plates and bad maintenance. The 2 piece ICS gearboxes can have some issues with certain brands (I think madbull and some others?) and high speed gears get messed up. You HAVE to get a tightbore and use .25's with the KWA or it will not preform as well, because of it's high FPS (396).

G&P

Post  The Godfather on Wed 23 Apr - 18:43

Over all (durable,price,internals,externals,range,fps,style) the G&P would take it i think because it is close to systema in internals and it is a mid ranged priced gun. Overall good company!!!

Post  Spartacus on Wed 23 Apr - 18:49

Just an FYI for ICS fans. The spring release mechanism isn't all it's cracked up to be. Yes, it does release spring tension which increases spring life. But, it also causes the spring to spin the gears in a reverse motion, back into the "rest" position-so to speak-, which slams into the first tooth on the piston. That's how my pistons teeth got ripped out. It was literally slamming the teeth from the opposite direction until they got ripped from the piston.

G&P has a lot of small problems that tend to snowball into larger ones. I have extensively used both and factoring in reliability/performance/price KWA is WAY better.

KWA M4 RIS: $325
G&P M4 (reg. handguard): $345

KWA reliability: 9/10
G&P reliability: 7/10

KWA performance: 9.4/10
G&P performance:9/10

The KWA has ugly trades though, not the G&P.

Good to know you figured out what happened to your M4 Thad, did they fix it?

Ya, got an entirely new polycarbonate piston since the aluminum is tougher on your gears. New aluminum piston head to replace the plastic one. And for my mini M4, the stopper for the switch was busted so it kept coming off its track and getting stuck instead of resetting. It's fixed now too.

The KWA KM4A1 Carbine is the first production AEG engineered specifically
for the unparalleled performance of today’s advanced battery technology –
Lithium Polymer (LiPo). LiPo batteries provide higher capacity and superior
performance surpassing the more common Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMh)
batteries. However, this powerful battery requires the highest quality of internal
components. To handle the extra power of LiPo batteries, the KM4A1 is
equipped with a reinforced metal gearbox utilizing KWA’s exclusive 8 and 9 mm
ball bearing bushing combination and case hardened, precision metal gear sets.
Heavy duty springs and high-torque motors are matched for optimum results.
High-grade metal alloy are used for the production of the upper and lower receivers.
The KWA KM4A1 Carbine was engineered to outperform the competition,
offering ultra high performance and dependability straight out of the box!

Overall Length = 33.75" (30.5" when stock is fully retracted)
Inner Barrel Length = 15.5"
Inner Barrel Diameter = 6.05mm +/- .03mm
Hop-Up: Adjustable
Magazine Capacity = 350 Rounds
Caliber = 6mm BB
Velocity = 400+ fps* with .20 gram BB's
Rate of Fire = 20+ rps*
Weight = 6.5 lbs.
Power = 8.4V, 9.6V NiMh Battery, or 11.1V Lithium Polymer Battery(Maximum) (Small type)

- Evike.com

I was told by a VERY experienced airsoft player and another VERY experienced airsmith that it was a reinforced body.

yeah except 11.1 batterys are gay waste ammo and are no one...it makes the game go from tactical to just fucking run and gun or blazing guns or whatever...with that many bbs flying its pretty much impossible to avoid if ure in range that is...oh and not to mention just cause the site says that doesnt make it true...and to be honest my gun fires better than a kwa M4 i used them side by side...in my opinion that is...but for example u can by master locks that say titanium even though they used a grinder to test the metal and found out it wasent titanium...u can tell by the color of the sparks...oh and reinforced body can mean a bunch of things...but w.e

I never said a lipo was good, I said nothing higher than a 9.6 should be used and it just says the gearbox is so reliable that a lipo CAN be used so there must have been something wrong with the KWA you used. A simple 6.04mm tightbore can increase the performance SO MUCH because of the high FPS. That stuff is copied DIRECTLY off of KWA's website and I highly doubt they lied, even though it is still a possibility. Your gun might have a tiny bit more range because of the barrel length but most prefer M4's over M16's (no denying it) so w/e. And you are forgetting the tiny last part I typed in the last message.
